“I am not a person who is speaking to speak. I am a person who has learned and endured what I am speaking from experience and struggles and wants people to know it is possible to get better and be happy again.” -Unknown
Treat.ED was born from a deep desire to connect those struggling with disordered eating with qualified professionals who believe that full recovery is possible.
We know that full recovery is possible because we’ve been there. We’ve walked through the flames and have come out on the other side.
Recovery requires a deep personal commitment to taking control away from the eating disorder and redirecting it towards one’s own health and well-being. It also requires a strong support system: family, friends, and a qualified professional team. Therapists, psychiatrists, nutritionists, physicians, and sometimes treatment centers are a crucial component in eating disorder recovery.
Unfortunately, only an estimated 10% of those with eating disorders receive treatment, and of those 10% not all receive treatment from specialized eating disorder professionals. This is unacceptable.
From our own experiences, we know that recovery is not easy; in fact, it might be the hardest fight of your life. Finding a qualified professional who can assist in this journey should not be part of the challenge.
We are here for you. We are passionately dedicated and honored to assist those in need of help connect with treatment professionals.
Through our time in the treatment process, we also know that comprehensive care is expensive. Inpatient care can cost $30,000 a month, while ongoing outpatient treatment can cost thousands of dollars. Comprehensive care should be available not only to those with abundant financial resources, but to everyone in need. That’s why we’re committed to donating 25% of our profits to organizations that provide financial assistance to those otherwise unable to afford care.
Recovery is possible. Please commit yourself to the journey. Find help today.
